Wollfest 2016, Hamburg

I started learning knitting since last November and then I knew a big wool event is held once a year. But unfortunately the festival was already closed last year and I knew it after I started knitting. So I really wanted to go the festival this year and see beautiful yarns, people and design samples. This year the wool festival “Wollfest” was held in Hamburg! Hamburg is not so far from my place. It takes just a hour by train. It also made me very happy:)

So I went “Wollfest” with my friend (She is a beautiful knit designer!!) yesterday and it was fantastic. The hall was covered by beautiful yarns from all over the world and lovely design. Also I saw lots of people were knitting in the lounge hall and every where. There was like knitter’s heaven! I found my favorite and got lots of good stimulus from there.

We stayed there a couple of hours and then moved to Alster lake. We took a boat and enjoyed Alster lake round trip. Then we left Hamburg by train. On the back way to Bremen, we were very excited about making something from the yarns that we purchased at “Wollfest”.  I’m going to make a top from merlot color’s yarns. But I don’t decide my plans for all my yarns yet. Hmmm…

 

去年の11月頃に編み物を始めて、もうちょっとで１年。ドイツでは様々な見本市が各都市で開かれるのですが、大きな毛糸の見本市が年に一度開かれることを知ったのは、もう去年のイベントが終了した後でした。次の2016年のイベント“Wollfest”は、Bremen からも程近い Hamburg で開催される事を知り、今年こそは！！とずーっと楽しみにしていました。そんな 念願の”Wollfest” へ、昨日行ってきました！

主にヨーロッパを中心とした美しい毛糸やデザイナーたちが集まる毛糸の祭典 “Wollfest 2016 in Hamburg” は、色々な毛糸のメーカーや毛糸を手作りしている工房の紹介ブースが並ぶほかにも、デザイナーさんたちによるワークショップや毛糸の手紡ぎ体験などのイベントが行われたり、ラウンジルームでは輪になって、皆それぞれに自由に持ち寄った各自のプロジェクトを編んでいたりと、編み物が好きな人には夢のような空間でした。私もわくわくしながら、各工房やメーカーの盛りだくさんの美しい毛糸や、壁一面に飾られた素敵な作品を見て回り、お気に入りの毛糸を購入しました。

“Wollfest”を満足した後は、今回一緒にお出かけをしている Midoriさん（とっても素敵なニット・デザイナーさん！）に連れられて、Alster湖をぐるりと周るボートに乗り、のんびりと景色を眺めながらクルーズを楽しみました。夢の毛糸の祭典、湖クルーズ、美味しいパン…と実に満足した日曜日となりました。さて何を作ろうかな？
